LGBTQI Community Safety Survey

Although San Francisco is home to diverse and vibrant Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) communities, many individuals within our communities continue to be affected by violence. The San Francisco Human Rights Commission (HRC) wants to understand more about the types of violence affecting our community, where we seek support when we experience violence, and what the City can do to keep us safer. HRC has worked with community partners to develop a survey that will help gather this information.

The survey is available in English and Spanish:

About the LGBTQI Community Safety Survey

Are you tired of filling out surveys? We understand! Members of our community are often the subject of research, which can sometimes feel draining, especially when it does not inform change. The LGBTQI Community Safety Survey has been developed by community members, for community members, and provides an important opportunity for us to shape what the City knows about how we experience violence and what we think should be done to make us safer. The survey is long – we anticipate that it will take 15-30 minutes to complete, and it asks some questions that may be difficult to answer. We are only asking these questions because we need to understand more about you and your experiences to help make San Francisco safer for our communities. For this reason, we hope you will take the time to complete the full survey. As a token of our appreciation, we are offering some exciting raffle prizes to all community members who complete the survey. Please see the survey for details.
