Committee Members Present: Commissioner Cecilia Chung, Commissioner Mark Dunlop, Jane Aceituno, Whitney Bagby, Dora Balcazar, Blue Buddha, David Cameron, Celina Chico, Billy Curtis, Calvin Gipson, Christopher Gomora, Danny Kirchoff, Spike Lawlor, Erica Newport, Roberto Isaac Ordeñana, Anthony Philip, Ren Phoenix, Aleem Raja, Martin Rawlings-Fein, Stephen Schwichow, Jason Stein, Morningstar Vancil, Meredith Wood.

1. Call to Order and Roll Call:
Commissioner Chung called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Brinkin called the roll.
2. Public Comment for Items Not On the Agenda:
No public comments were made.
3. Training by Victoria Neal – Communication and Diversity:
Veronica Neal of VAKN Consulting and Joyce Kiefer, her assistant, provided training on Communication and Diversity in order to help the Committee build a more inclusive team.
Topics discussed included the development of communities and the characteristics of each stage in their development, discovering each other’s identity, values, and behaviors, communication style assessment, communication awareness, dialogue vs. discussion, non-verbal communication, and the next steps to take in building a more cohesive, inclusive team.
