The Mayor of San Francisco is authorized to appoint up to eleven Commissioners to help develop policy at the HRC and serve as the liaison between HRC and the community, the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors. HRC’s Commission members represent diverse interests in the community and are able to leverage both their professional and personal backgrounds to better address a wide range of issues affecting human rights.
